The Huhtamaki Group company began production at its Ennis, Ireland plant nine months ago.
While paper cups can and are being recycled in both Ireland and the UK, the infrastructure to get them to recycling reprocessors still needs work.
The reCUP uses a different type of paper cup liner which means in comparison to some standard cups they can contain up to 43% less plastic, especially against some imported cups where heavier PE coatings are prevalent as their technology is less well advanced.
